What is the SmartPaddle?

SmartPaddle is an advanced wearable underwater sensor. It records the applied force and the resulting movement (trajectory, speed and orientation of the hand) during a stroke.

  • Fits to the palm of your hand
  • Small and extremely light for minimal interference with the stroke.
  • Silicone straps (similar to other swimming paddles) are used to secure the meter to your your palm during swimming.
  • Connects to your phone
  • Indicator lights informs you about the state of the SmartPaddle.
  • Enough memory to store 40 minutes of recording.
  • 24hrs of recording without re-charging.
  • Separate transport mode to minimize power consumption when sensor is not in use.
  • Goes automatically into power save mode if not moved in 5 minutes.
  • Bluetooth used to transfer data to Analysis Center via SmartPaddle App.
  • Wireless charging
  • Easy use docking charger.
  • 1 hr charging time from empty to full charge.
  • USB-B and USB-C chargers supported.
  • Pair and track
  • Pair the swimmer with SmartPaddles.
  • Starts and stops recording SmartPaddles.
  • Manage the data by grouping recordings to training sessions and by giving a name for the sessions.
  • Includes a stopwatch for additional lap and split times.
  • System Requirements
  • Android 7. or newer / iOS 10.0 or later
  • Bluetooth LE 4.0 support. Recommended: Device with Bluetooth 4.2 to enable faster data transfer.
  • Supported browsers: Google Chrome 35 and later, Firefox 31 and later, Internet Explorer 9 and later, Microsoft Edge, Safari 7.1 and later, Opera 12 and later
  • Analysis Center stores the data and makes it actionable.
  • Different views and tools are provided to turn data into actions. Analysis Center is a web application and can be accessed anywhere with a browser.
  • Live tracking: Live view presents/offers instant information on the swimming performance
  • An average stroke can easily be compared against a selection of references.
    • Swimmer's earlier strokes.
    • Coach’s other swimmers.
    • Global reference.
  • Versatile comparison visualizes and quantifies the changes applied as well as their consequences.
  • Dig deeper in Explore tool
  • Explore tool enables studying the changes that take place within one lap or between laps.
  • Traditional race analysis parameters are provided for each set and lap.
  • In addition, it is possible to observe possible changes in the swimming technique
  • Enables comparison of either average or each individual strokes.
  • Selection of references can be used in comparison.
    • Swimmer's earlier strokes.
    • Coach’s other swimmers.
    • Global references.
  • Get overview with Analysis tool
  • Analysis tool enables to determine swimmer’s "signature style" and to develop it systematically.
  • Visualizes swimming dynamics, i.e., the changes over a range of swimming speed.
  • Helps identifying the bottlenecks of the performance.
  • Creates analysis reports to be shared with other swimmers and coaches.
  • Stores analysis reports for systematic tracking of development and planning of corrective actions.
  • System Requirements
  • Supported browsers: Google Chrome 35 and later, Firefox 31 and later, Internet Explorer 9 and later, Microsoft Edge, Safari 7.1 and later, Opera 12 and later
